Congratulations Health Professionals for a Healthy Climate!
On May 8 at the meeting of the National Adaptation Forum, Health Professionals for a Healthy Climate received the 2017 Minnesota Climate Adaptation Award presented by the Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership.
“Health Professionals for a Healthy Climate (HPHC) exemplifies the leadership and education innovations that improve resilience and advance climate adaptation. HPHC was formed in 2015 by a group of physicians, nurses, and allied health care activists to educate and inform legislators, patients, community members, and health profession students about the helath risks of climate change. Their approach offers an effective model to improve resilience by uniting health care profession voices. In 2015 the organization developed an accredited Continuing Medical Education course and presented to over 100 health professionals. In 2016 HOHC worked with Twin Cities Medical Society to launch an Environmental Health Committee focused on climate change and health. HPHC is currently coordinating numerous advocacy efforts that demonstrate the power of partnership in action.”
