Zika virus is a symptom of climate change

Abstract

The Zika epidemic is one of the ill effects of climate change. Warming climate not being its only cause, current infections in the United States are reported to be primarily travel related. Yet biology favors both higher activity level and expansion into new territory, under higher temperatures, of the mosquitoes, fleas, ticks and other animal vectors for Zika and other infectious diseases
